Howard Catton, Chief Executive Officer of the International Council of Nurses (ICN), honored Fray Michelo, President of the Zambia Union of Nurses and Midwives Organisation (ZUNMO), by presenting him with the prestigious ICN presidential badge. Mr. Michelo, who assumed office as ZUNMO President for a four-year term starting December 2024, received the badge during a meeting in Geneva.

The ICN presidential badge, a symbol of leadership and esteem within the global nursing community, is bestowed upon leaders of ICN affiliates. ZUNMO, affiliated with the ICN since 1953, plays a pivotal role as a representative and advocate for advancing nursing standards and policies in Zambia and globally.

At the meeting in Geneva, discussions centered on ZUNMO’s crucial role in enhancing nursing within Zambia, highlighting their ongoing commitment to the profession’s development and advocacy efforts.
