Today marks the official opening of the International Council of Nurses (ICN) 2025 Congress, taking place from 9–13 June in Helsinki, Finland. This landmark event has brought together over 7,000 nurses from around the world, united under the inspiring theme: “Nursing Power to Change the World.”

ZUNMO President Fray Michelo is among the over 7,000 Nurses from 130 Countries attending the 30th ICN Congress.
We are proud to announce that ZUNMO President Fray Michelo is representing Zambia at this prestigious global gathering.
The ICN Congress is more than a celebration of the nursing profession—it is a pivotal moment for global health. Over the next four days, nursing professionals, thought leaders, and healthcare influencers will share insights, exchange ideas, and tackle the pressing challenges facing nursing today.
Key highlights from ICN 2025 include:
✅ Launch of the new Definition of ‘Nurse’ and ‘Nursing’ report
✅ In-depth discussions on the State of the World’s Nursing (SOWN) Report
✅ First-ever meeting of the Student and Early Career Nurses Alliance
✅ Plenary sessions on leadership, well-being, the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), digital health, health system reforms, and promoting health for peace
This Congress underscores ICN’s ongoing commitment to advocating for increased investment in nursing—especially in conflict zones, climate-impacted areas, and underserved communities.
